With the numerous clubs available at WHS, everyone can find a space for them. Each club provides a special opportunity and community.

For example, the Knit and Crochet Club meets every Tuesday in room 318B/C, offering a creative space to help and benefit numerous charities.
The pilot year for the Knit and Crochet Club (2023-2024) and its large success allowed the club to become an official part of the school’s activities.
The meetings are run by five current juniors: Abbie Fang, Grace Gordon, Meira Flavin, Lindsay Ferguson, and Diya Vijit Nair.
Lindsay Ferguson, describing a typical meeting, stated that they begin by giving an overview of the agenda, afterward, “everyone works on a project while the advisor monitors ensuring that anyone who needs help receives it, offering guidance.” Even those unfamiliar with the craft can easily learn by joining the community that the Knit and Crochet Club has created.
From this shared hobby, a warm and welcoming environment developed as anyone who enters the room immediately feels comfortable sitting down and engaging in the activities.
Saanvi Chowdhary and Isabella Elliott, both WHS freshmen and new to the club, shared that their favorite parts of the club were “having the ability to hang out with friends” and “the community that they bring together.” Despite this being their first year, they have already grown into a part of the Knit and Crochet Club family, developing a passion for the craft.

In addition to offering a fun and inviting space, the club also gives back to the Wilton community. Each year, the club holds several markets to sell their creations, like adorable plushies and keychains. The profits gained from these markets then go to various charities.
Meira Flavin, the club’s social media manager, explained, “Last year, we donated to charities like the Trevor Project and Doctors Without Borders- earning around $700 for the Trevor Project in June which was really nice.”
This spring, the Knit and Crochet Club will hold a spring-themed market in the cafeteria on March 20th, where the money will once again go towards charity. These next two months, the group will be busy working on their projects and communicating to organize this event, continuing their work as an integral part of this community.
