One Love Foundation was founded after a lacrosse player from the University of Virginia, Yeardley Love, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. One Love emphasizes the importance of checking in on teammates due to the serious repercussions of this issue. The ultimate goal is to empower and teach peers to identify and avoid abuse. Without the proper education, the signs can be impossible to notice.
One Love in Wilton is part of a nationwide movement that has reached over three million people. At Wilton High School, One Love allows students to make a meaningful impact by promoting healthy relationships among peers. By participating in the club, students can take an active role in educating others on how to recognize the signs of abuse and how to prevent it.
One Love at Wilton fosters a supportive environment for those who seek it and provides numerous tools and resources. Younger people tend to lack the means to recognize the early signs of unhealthy relationship behaviors.
The club educates and empowers students to lead workshops, organize events, and facilitate discussions that spread awareness and encourage positive habits. To become one of these leaders, you must join One Love by completing this course. Please note that you do not need to complete this course to become a club member.
Joining One Love at Wilton provides an opportunity to be part of a vital mission – to end abusive relationships and to create a world of healthier relationships.
