Wilton Varsity Football Recap vs Warde
Last week the Wilton Warriors varsity football team took on the Fairfield Warde Mustangs at Tetreau Davis field in Fairfield. Things got off to a nice start for Wilton as senior Harvey Alexander scored on a 2 yard rushing play to make it 7-0. Following that, senior Joe Scarfi successfully completed a 14 yard pass to senior Brian Calabrese for another touchdown to make it 14-0. In the second quarter, senior Harvey Alexander had a 9 yard run for another touchdown to make it 21-0 and later on senior Will Sullivan hit a 38 yard field goal to make it 24-0. Following halftime, scoring was peaceful in the 3rd quarter. In the fourth quarter, Warde started to strike back, but a 1 yard run by junior Kyle Phillips ensured that Wilton could easily pick up the W in Fairfield. By the end of the battle, it was 31-21 Wilton on a nice, warm Saturday morning. Senior Robbie Hermann had a record breaking day as he picked up four interceptions, breaking a school record.
